Region 4 Genetics Collaborative seeks applications for a Senior Project Coordinator.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work in partnership with funding agency regarding project plans, project budgets, progress reporting, and problem solving.
- Analyze project needs, develop work plans and timelines, implement project activities, develop policies and procedures, manage subcontractors, and write progress reports.
- Identify evaluation needs and work with the project evaluator to make sure those needs are met.
- Facilitate project progress by supporting leaders from throughout the region who represent public health, newborn screening laboratories, families of children with genetic conditions, genetic specialists, pediatric and primary care providers, and university partners.
- Reach out to national partners including other HRSA grantees and national organizations invested in improving newborns screening and genetic services.
- Disseminate, through peer-reviewed publication, professional conferences, teaching and public policy forums, the findings and implications of the project.
- Assist the Sr. Program Director in determining and assessing staffing needs. Coordinate work assignments and mentor staff as opportunities arise.
- Assist in the identification of resources needed to support the implementation of project initiatives. Write and submit grant and other funding proposals.
- Facilitate face-to-face and teleconference workgroup meetings using logic models and action plans to guide progress.
- Coordinate and manage subcontractors, and arrange for the contracting of consultants as needed. Negotiate work statement requirements, evaluation methodologies, and budgets with subcontractors and consultants.
- Provide consultation and technical assistance to subcontractors to assure timely completion and enhance the quality of subcontractor deliverables; facilitate consistency and integration with the project goals and objectives, and to maximize opportunities for collaboration.
- Prepare Institutional Review Board, Human Subjects Approval, and Privacy Sensitive Review applications for projects and related subcontractor initiatives.
- Represent the project and MPHI at federal and state meetings and conferences.
- Promote collaboration among a network of public and private organizations and facilitate efficient and effective interaction among the federal, state, and community project partners.
- Maintain a positive, strong, credible, professional interpersonal relationship with all parties of MPHI projects, and represent the best interest of MPHI at all times.
Qualifications/Requirements:
Education: Graduate degree in public health genetics, genetic counseling or other relevant field.
Experience: A minimum of five to seven years of related post-masters experience that includes substantial experience with project management, developing and facilitating interagency collaboration, and building consensus.
